BLUFFTON, S.C. (WSAV) — A growing freshman class is pushing The University of South Carolina Beaufort’s (USCB) total enrollment to roughly 2,200 students across its Bluffton, historic Beaufort and Hilton Head Island campuses.
Since the school year has just begun, official enrollment numbers will be released soon.
Students began classes this week and school leaders said some of the most popular majors on campus are biology, psychology, business and nursing.

“We are really focusing a lot on introducing very clear career readiness skills that employers look for into our courses,” said Dudas. “They’ve always been done, but students don’t necessarily always connect the dots. And so, we’re going to really be intentional about that this year.”
This large incoming class has filled student housing for the calendar year. School leaders said the growth is creating a need for additional housing which they plan to expand soon.
